Our liturgies utilize the talents and gifts that God has given our community to the fullest extent. Whether participation is through "behind the scenes" preparation and planning, or through a public role of service within the Mass, parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations. Please prayerfully consider joining one of these ministries:
Ministers of the Word proclaim the Word of the Lord during Mass. Therefore, they must be comfortable with public speaking and proficient with diction, enunciation, pronunciation, and projection. Training is provided.
Ministers of Communion, along with the priest and, on occasion, the deacon, assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ to the assembly during Mass. Training is provided.
The following are the qualifications for this ministry:
Following Christ's examples of welcoming all with open arms, our hospitality ministers (Greeters and Ushers) open doors and warmly greet all who come to worship with us. Serving as a Hospitality Minister is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other parishioners. Interested individuals and families should be hospitable, have an ability to see the needs of others and respond to them, and be welcoming.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Altar servers and acolytes (adult servers) assist the priest during Mass and at other liturgical ceremonies - you have probably seen them vested in white albs at Mass. They should be able to understand the Eucharistic celebration and the other sacred rites. The minimum age is 4th grade. Training is provided.
